Apple Brings Tighter Windows / iTunes Integration 2004-05-25 08:39:06 ArsTechnica recently covered Apple's release of a new iTunes Windows SDK which exposes iTunes functionality through the Windows Component Object Model (COM) interface. This SDK will allow, among other things, the playback of AAC files through the Quicktime playback layer, a capability that has been present for some time under Mac OS X. "This SDK provides header files, documentation, and sample JScript files demonstrating how to use the iTunes for Windows COM interface. COM is the Microsoft technology, similar to AppleScript on Mac OS, that allows programmatic control of iTunes from languages like JScript, Visual Basic, C#, and C++. This SDK requires iTunes for Windows version 4.5 or later."
