Some clever students at the University of Illinois (Champaign-Urbana) have put together system that might just light the path to music you will love. The The Music Recommendation System for iTunes provides music recommendations that are specifically geared to each user's particular music preferences. Once a client application (available for both Mac OS X and Windows) is downloaded, the system examines the ratings entries from a user's iTunes database and compares them with ratings data from other users of the recommendation system, allowing for meaningful recommendations to be offered.
This seems to be a potentially excellent service and has inspired us, here at iPod Hacks, to be more diligent when it comes to rating our tunes.
