As we suspected earlier, Apple did not warm up to StarBrite Solutions' pPod, an MP3 player for MS Pocket PC devices that effectively renders an on-screen iPod that mimics the look and feel of Apple's digital music player. As Digit Mag reports, the company was contacted by Apple Legal who expressed concerns that "the pPod was being passed off as an Apple iPod."
StarBrite Solutions renamed the product "pBop" and applied some minor interface changes, such as moving the row of control buttons to below the scroll-wheel, but as can be seen from the photo in the aforementioned article, the resemblance to the iPod is still strong. Presumably, it was further pressuring from Apple Legal that has prompted the removal of the app, entirely, from StarBrite's website.
