User 'locklin' posted a link to Mediafour's xPod, a piece of software that will allow the iPod to be used with all versions of Windows from 95 on up. A FireWire port is, of course, required. The software is in beta presently, and there is a sign-up on their site for e-mail notification of the product's release.
Apple has indicated that eventually they may look into allowing the use of the iPod on the Windows platform. This product sounds perfect for Windows users with lust in their eyes who don't want to wait and see if Apple is going toss them a bone. The question is whether or not this product actually syncs the iPod with an MP3 player/manager or if it's just providing system level file copying capabilities (a more crude solution).
