beaTunes v1.2.15 Released
2008-10-08 20:26:30

Looking to do some iPod DJing at your next party? Is finding a cluster of "matching" songs in your library proving to be a challenge? Have a look at beaTunes v1.2.15 for Mac OS X.

beaTunes lets you build a better party playlist by analyzing the songs in your existing library and storing that information for song-to-song comparison. Some features of beaTunes:
  • Automatically determine BPM (beats per minute) and store the result in iTunes
  • Manually determine BPM and store the result in iTunes
  • Sort existing playlists so that matching songs succeed each other
  • Browse songs from your music collection that match the currently selected song
  • Discover albums that aren't in your music collection, but would complement it
  • Automatically set start and end times of songs based on their volume
  • Categorize songs by their sound color
Note that beaTunes cannot analyze songs protected by DRM systems such as FairPlay (which protects all songs downloaded from the iTunes Music Store).

New in this release:
  • Fixes for UI errors caused by Java 1.5.0_16 (aka release 7)
