My iPod battery isn't working properly. It will only run for about 3 hours and then the battery is dead. If i leave it for a day or two after i have used it for an hour or so and then use it, it is completely flat. What can i do about this?
This comment got my attention becuase I feel that in the time (just shy of a year) that I have had my iPod, the battery life has dwindled. I recently kept a accurate journal of full-charge to dead-battery usage and found that I got 5hr 55mn out of it. That's longer than I expected but seems shorter than I was getting when the unit was new.
Rechargable batteries do lose their ability to hold a charge in time, but we hear so few complains about this with regards to the iPod that I wonder if my experience (and that of the user above) are out of the ordinary? What is the life expectancy of the iPod's battery? An occasional user has mentioned notable battery life degradation and gotten the unit "repaired," under warranty, by Apple. Frankly we were surprised to hear that Apple would cover the "repair," on their own coin, of a component that is known to eventually fizzle out.
Please share your experiences along these lines in the comment thread of this message.
